Students at the Maya Jaguar high school are captivated by the unusual insect they are viewing through the lens of this new microscope, a gift provided through a Rotary District grant initiated by the Rogue Gateway, Grants Pass, Illinois Valley and Delta-Eugene Rotary Clubs. This four-club project brings a science lab to Mayan students in their school that is located in a remote rainforest in Guatemala; the funds provide for lab construction and furnishings, water system, and science equipment and supplies. Remodeling of a classroom for the science lab is now completed, and cabinetry is due to be finished by the end of September.
