Vocational Service Committee – Promotes the use of vocation as an avenue of service. Works with the Program Committee to schedule new club members’ vocational presentations on the second Thursday of each month. Arranges and conducts an annual Vocational Service Awards Program recognizing a non-Rotarian for excellence and ethics in his/her profession on the second Thursday in October. (October is Rotary International’s Vocational Service month).

  • Solicits nominations from within the club and the greater community
  • Reviews nominations and selects a winner
  • Arranges certificates for nominees and plaque for winner
  • Organizes and provides master of ceremonies for the Vocational Service Award program, inviting nominees and their family members, colleagues, and friends, and past winners
  • Schedules new (or existing) members to present vocational programs on the second Thursday of each month, and communicates schedule to Program and Public Relations Committees
  • Promotes the value of vocational service with other appropriate activities, sometimes in conjunction with local and/or regional economic development entities
